At first sight Grasmere is simply a pretty tourist village in the middle of the Lake District National Park. But look closely and you will discover that there is much more to the village than hotels, gift shops and cafes.

Many sites in Grasmere have associations with Wordsworth. As well as Dove Cottage, he also lived at Allen Bank on the west side of the village.
